Frequently Asked Questions

Is PIE a public funded school?

No, our PIE program is supported by tuition and donations.

You can apply here (you must create an account to complete the application form) or submit the interest form. For questions, please contact us and let us know the age of the person wanting to enroll into the program and what you are seeking to be worked on or what are you expecting of PIE.

If you are under the age of 18 and would like to attend our year-round program, tuition cost is $1,800/month or $20,500 if paid in full for the year.

This includes 210 days of client contact as well as automatic enrollment to summer camp and evenly disturbed breaks through out the year. We also offer adventure camp during school breaks for any working families. Those are not included in tuition and run M-W from 9-1pm for $75/day.

Financial assistance is offered to families who need support: if you need assistance with tuition please contact us directly at info@piempowered.org. PIE believes finances should never be a reason a child is unable to attend.

We work with all ages and we don't believe in grades. We believe in whole person learning and that at every level we can learn together. We are people with thinking brains not robots to be manufactured by grade.

Yes, PIE the program as a whole is year-round. We have an academic break almost every 6-8 weeks, but we do offer adventure camps during those breaks for working families. This allows for clients to still have structure, while also ensuring parents and guardians have an option for extra support. You are getting 210 contact days rather than 170 in the local district.

.PIE does not have an after-school program, but the Unified Art Studio, which PIE supports, offers after-school activities and programs starting at 4 PM. The studio is located in the same building and is open to the public.

Currently tuition covers basic supplies and parents are expected to provide technology such as computers or writing utensils.

Parents will be required to fundraise to ensure we can continue operating, while keeping tuition as low as possible. Parents are required to raise approximately 2-4k/year. We have many opportunities to help this throughout the year. Parents are also expected to attend a parent-teacher conference once a year; usually the 2nd Friday in February. On this day the PIE academic program is closed to clients.

Clients are supported in small groups and will get individual attention as needed. Work completion will be based on an individual client's’ goals and needs. The ratio for the older clients is 4:1, for young learners 3:1.

If you pay monthly and pull your child out of the PIE program, we will need 30 days notice. If 30 days notice is not given any fees will incur and you will be expected to pay. Our scale of operations prevents us from refunding any fees if a client is withdrawn from a program at any point during the year.  If you paid in full for the year, you will be refunded the remaining months with a refund fee of $150
